This series of 8 cards was published with a (hoped-for) US occupation of Czechoslovakia in mind. this first has has caption on back: "Czechoslovakia the heart of Europe/Prague the heart of Czechoslovakia/The hundred-spired Prague, the City of a splendid welcome paid to Marshal Eisenhower, the city of jolly girls, songs, drinks, and flowers./Na shlendanou! To see you again!" Caption: "The best film-sudios on the Continent, with bath-and dancing rooms. while the swimmers are ducking in the water, you are swinging in the rhythm of Boogie-woogie." On the back: "Well, the Bridge Tower, made of the powder of centuries, the great paradox, because it is graceful in spite of its antiquity. That couldn't be said about the Jeep." "You drive over the frontier of Prague. You wonder at this stony blossom of middle-ages. You have the possibility of exchange your battle-dress for mail-coat and the Chesterfields for whatever else." This last comment refers to what was available in exchange for cigarettes, namely anything.

Four more images in this series: "Delightful, isn't it? The City which is very fond of traditions and of you, too. the river Vltava, the King Charles' Bridge, pasted with eggs. Ham-and-eggs are better, don't you think so?" "Look at him! It is St. Wenceslaus, the Duke and Patron of the Czech country, the Good King Wenceslaus. he rides on his stallion, and he is very photogenic, too." "connecting link between USA and Czechoslovakia: Chewing-gum. how do you like the little sky-scraper? it is small, but ours!" "White Hall of Czechoslovakia-Hradcany with St. Vit's Catherdral where the Coronation jewels are placed. The residence of the Czechoslovak president. Hradcany with its Cathedral are often painted on plates or pots." These cards have some weird references--to ham and eggs, chewing gum, movie studios--but have wonderful graphic designs, color and paper.
